General Bullying 101

45 - 60 Minutes

Prevention Strategies (Youth track—Owning Up, available 4th-8th grade youth)

  • Define and ID Dignity vs Respect
  • Active Listening Strategies + ID Allies
  • ID differing types of teasing/setting boundaries
  • Understanding Anger
  • Conflict Resolution (SEAL-Stop, Explain, Affirm/Admit, Lock)
  • True vs Fake Apologies
  • Defining Friendships/Boundary Setting
  • Bystander Prevention

*lessons can stand alone or can build off one another, each lesson runs 45-60 min.

Prevention Strategies (Adult track—Owning Up but modified to work through adult situations so they can understand what their youth get taught but also adults need help with these skills too)

Healthy Relationships and Communication - (youth track, 8th- 11th grade)

  • What is Healthy/Unhealthy/Abuse?
  • Communication with Emotion Wheel/Anger Iceberg and “I feel statements”

7th - 12th Grade

  • Defining Self Medication
  • Positive vs Negative Stress
  • Different Coping Strategies

45-60 Minutes

Presentation can be accommodated to fit the request. Learn about risk factors, prevention steps, programs in the area on improving balance, and what’s happening at the State Level to support individuals at risk of falling. Brief demo on gentle exercises may be included.

One hour or less

Overview of what health disparities are, why the LGBTQ+ population is at risk for health disparities, current statistics of LGBTQ+ health disparities, solutions, and local resources.

30 - 60 Minutes

Available for a presentation on Wednesday or Thursday evenings

Presentation on how to administer Narcan (Naloxone), how to recognize an opioid overdose, and information about the opioid epidemic.

Presentation about the Yavapai County Resource Guide (mohelp.org) including how to use it and features that are helpful for resource navigators in the community.

30 Minutes or Less

Increase your awareness of the health impacts of alcohol

Topics will include:

  • Standard drink definition
  • Moderate vs. binge drinking
  • Aging and alcohol effects
  • Gender differences in alcohol processing
  • Short and long-term health risks
  • Resources and apps for tracking and moderating drinking
  • Helpful tips and great mocktail recipes shared

  • Brain function + effect of Nicotine on development
  • How nicotine impacts the rest of the body/2nd+3rd hand aerosol
  • Costs of vaping (monetary + social)

You and Me Together Vape Free Curriculum
(45-60 minutes, each lesson. 5th+ 6th grade version, 7th– 8th grade version, 9th-12th grade version)

  • Don’t be fooled! Tobacco industry tactics (5th+6th)
