It’s a lifestyle change that is supportive and motivating. PreventT2 is a CDC-approved curriculum proven to prevent or delay Type 2 Diabetes. This is done through sessions that focus on healthy eating, exercise, reducing stress, coping with challenges, etc. There are 26 sessions spread out over a year.
To join the program, a participant must be the following:
18 years or older
Have a BMI higher than 24
No previous diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes
Blood test result in the Prediabetes range
Previously had gestational diabetes
High risk result on the prediabetes risk test
What is Prediabetes?
What is prediabetes? Prediabetes is having higher than normal blood sugar levels, but not high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. It can put individuals with prediabetes at an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
